Preparing for Clearing

We understand that waiting for your results can be a stressful time. To support you, we’ve put together some top tips to help you prepare if you’re considering Clearing.

1. Be the first to secure your place

You’ll be able to browse our full list of undergraduate Clearing course vacancies and contact us by phone to apply for a place from 8am on results day, Thursday 14 August.

2. Consider every outcome

Keep your options open by looking at the alternative courses we offer within your subject area of interest. This will help increase your chances of securing a place on a similar course if things don’t go to plan. Remember that similar courses may have different names at different universities.

3. Check your contact details

We may need to contact you on results day, so it’s important to make sure your contact details are correct in UCAS. and that you’re available to discuss your options. We recommend using your personal email address rather than your school email address.

If you want someone to talk to universities on your behalf, you'II need to add them as your nominated contact on UCAS.

4. Think about finance

It can take time to process your application for Student Finance, so it's better to apply sooner rather than later. You can always amend or cancel your application if your plans change. Read our information about how to apply for student finance.

5. Think about accommodation
